Our agency caseworker called today and said that the orphanage director was going to go today to file for our boy's passport! Our girl is evidently still in MOI, waiting for whatever documents they still think they need. They have everything they need for her, except that signature!!
So, we're getting still closer. Every day, closer and closer. And soon they'll be here, and these days of waiting will be behind us. Over time, we'll forget just how hard this wait was, and we'll wonder why we had some bad days and some good days, and it will be kind of foggy as to what the fuss was, and it won't seem like it took almost 2 years to get them home - because we'll have them every day, to nurture and care for and teach and learn.
And, in the meantime, we Praise God. The song that has been with us throughout this process is a Christian song called, "Praise You in This Storm". It has given us much comfort to know that God is with us, no matter the storm. Sometimes we don't think we can hear God, or we feel like He's abandoned us. But then we hear, barely, "I'm here. Don't give up." Just a little encouragement to continue on, and we continue to praise Him. Here are the encouraging words that keep playing through our heads:
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
Chorus:
I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth
